Vala’s Better Ventures EIS fund is open, and now with SDR label
Award-winning Vala is delighted to announce that the Better Ventures EIS is open under the FCA’s SDR regime with the Sustainability Improvers’ label.
In 2021 Vala committed, in its Sustainability Manifesto, to making the investors’ capital contingent on change. This means that companies invested in through the Better Ventures EIS have to commit meaningfully and tangibly in to operating and trading more sustainably. To becoming ‘better’. Vala has been able to demonstrate this commitment through the production of six-monthly sustainability reports, showing the progress of the Portfolio becoming more sustainable.
Vala has been able to do this through partnership with The Sustainability Group’s extraordinary platform, FuturePlus. New companies to the Portfolio will be expected to sign up to FuturePlus.
Vala believes that this is more than its desire to protect life on Earth but will lead to better investment outcomes. On the whole companies focused on supply chain, recycling & re-use, care of employees and local environments, energy usage will be more successful than those that don’t.
